Hey list,
I just upgraded a few toasters (test and production, i386 only), and thought
I'd share a few observations:
.) It appears that updating the perl package via yum reverted MakeMaker.pm
from v6.44 to v6.30 on CentOS5/perl5.8.8, and from v6.44 to v6.17 on
CentOS4/perl5.8.5. As a result, I had no problem with installing
spamassassin-toaster-3.2.5-1.3.14.
.) I had no perl dependency issues on either CentOS release.
.) NEVER use CPAN to update your perl modules, and especially DON"T UPDATE
Module::CPAN ITSELF! It's not necessary, and it can lead to problems.
The packages that were updated were clamav, spamassassin, and squirrelmail.
BL, I belive it's a good idea to following these steps when updating toaster
packages:
.) install the qmailtoaster-plus repo, and install qmailtoaster-plus package
(if you haven't done so already)
.) yum update (the entire system)
.) reboot if kernel was updated
.) qtp-newmodel
In general, always "yum update" your system before upgrading toaster
packages, and don't use CPAN for managing perl packages.
