You are right, I update Bundle::CPAN from the CPAN shell, i am already
installed spamassassin, modyfing the .spec file and building it using
rpmbuild -bb and the .spec file as building parameter... but the
question is, what is the right procedure to not get into this mess?
First fresh install without updating Bundle::CPAN then qmt scripts?
Yes.
It's best to use perl rpms from rpmforge instead of using CPAN for updates.
MakeMaker.pm is part of the base perl package, so I think that if you
run "rpm -F --force perl-5.8.8-15.el5_2.1*.rpm" with the latest perl
binary package, that would revert MakeMaker.pm to a version that works
with the latest spamassassin-toaster. You can check your MakeMaker.pm
source for the version you have. You want version 6.30, not 6.4x.
Thanks for your help
Welcome.
P.S. If you haven't installed qmailtoaster-plus (qtp.qmailtoaster.com)
yet, I would. There's a script in there that will install the rpmforge
repo into yum for you. See documentation on the QTP web site.

Hi everybody
I am trying to building the spamassassin package in a fresh install
of CentOS 5.2 and i get this errors
#rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt50
spamassassin-toaster-3.2.5-1.3.14.src.rpm
The building process exit with these ...
+ install -m 0644 /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/qmailtoaster.local.cf.bz2
/var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf.bz2
install: cannot create regular file
`/var/tmp/spamassassin-toaster-root/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf.bz2':
No such file or directory
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.77395 (%install)
The weird thing is that the dir mail/spamassassin is created in /etc
Thanks for your help

Likely you updated CPAN. Not a good move. Check the list archives for
details. Look for MakeMaker. That's the culprit.
