No, you'll need the whole perl package. There are other interdependent
modules in the perl package, you can't necessarily just pick the one
file. That, and I'm not sure that 6.43 is quite old enough. 6.44 was
just the first version we noticed the problem with. It might have been
introduced anywhere between 6.30 and 6.44.
I'd bet money that this is your problem. Same symptoms (error messages),
exactly.
