Dear All, After a few days of research on Google and qmailtoaster-list archives, I would like to kindly share my issue: MTA POOR REPUTATION.
I get very frequently errors like this while sending emails: ======================================================== Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mail.leanservers.com. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. <em...@address>: Connected to IP.ADD.RE.SS but greeting failed. Remote host said: 554-MAIL.SERVER.NAME 554 Your access to this mail system has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means. I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long. ======================================================== I realized that my server (mail.leanservers.com -- 173.45.79.108) was listed in FIVE-TEN blacklist (http://www.five-ten-sg.com/blackhole.php). After escalating this to my ISP the mail server got removed from the list. But I still cannot send emails, specially to private companies or official (government) organizations. I can send to GMAIL/HOTMAIL/YAHOO. I have been looking into OPEN RELAY, SPF, DOMAIN KEYS and REVERSE DNS setup and all is fine. Senderbase (www.senderbase.org/senderbase_queries/detailip?search_string=173.45.79.108) still gives me a poor reputation. Would anyone suggest what should be my next steps? Any pointers?
