It is pretty straightforward. Fail2ban should work out of the box once you enable the particular services you want watched. It did on my system - I enabled sshd. The documentation is pretty straightforward and it is easy to do.
Logwatch was the same way - very easy, works out of the box for standard services. -----Original Message----- From: Steve Huff [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, June 07, 2010 1:00 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [qmailtoaster] Help needed to implement Logwatch and Fail2ban On Jun 7, 2010, at 3:39 PM, karpaha vinayaham wrote: > I would like to implement Logwatch and Fail2ban on my server, i am running Centos 5.2. > Could any one help me on this. 1. enable RPMforge repository (http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories/RPMForge) 2. `sudo yum install logwatch fail2ban` 3. read documentation -steve -- If this were played upon a stage now, I could condemn it as an improbable fiction. - Fabian, Twelfth Night, III,v http://five.sentenc.es --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Qmailtoaster is sponsored by Vickers Consulting Group (www.vickersconsulting.com) Vickers Consulting Group offers Qmailtoaster support and installations.
