The recommended way is to use qmailadmin to create forwards, which are
stored in the database.
Using .qmail files is the older method used by native qmail, which is
still supported. qmailadmin makes this easier though, and allows a mail
admin (semi-advanced user) to do the maintenance w/out needing CLI access.
FWIW.

Why not use the command /home/vpopmail/bin/valias -i john.ro...@domain.com
nicholas.c...@domain.com ?

Hi,
I would like to create an alias for john.ro...@domain.com to my email
address. So in the /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com I create a
.qmail-john.roger file. In it, I put in my email address
nicholas.c...@domain.com. Chown .qmail-john.roger with vpopmail vchkpw
I am unable to get it to work. What is wrong here?
Regards
Nic
