To forward system generated mail to a qmail account, is it a requirement to
first create a similar vpop account prior to forwarding ?

***Note - Mail & DNS is hosted on the machine.

Under /var/qmail/alias I created the following files:

.qmail-anonymous

.qmail-mailer-daemon

.qmail-postmaster

.qmail-root

which all has one entry pointing to a valid vpopmail account. i.e

 <mailto:&j...@server.com> &j...@server.com

/var/qmail/control/me reads

                ns.server.com

#hostname -fqdn

                ns.server.com

However, it doesn't seem to work correctly as per the following example:

Received: (qmail 2725 invoked for bounce); 16 Feb 2014 23:25:01 -0000

Date: 16 Feb 2014 23:25:01 -0000

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at ns.server.com.

I tried to deliver a bounce message to this address, but the bounce bounced!

<r...@server.com>:

Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

--- Below this line is the original bounce.

Return-Path: <>

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.

This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
