I found that value as well (perhaps I should have explained what I had done already tried)... but even after upping that value to 80, I still see log entries saying tcpserver is limiting the number to 40. (The value at /var/qmail/supervise/imap4/env/MAXDAEMONS (which is built in the /var/qmail/supervise/imap4/run script) is properly set to 80 -- but the tcpserver entry line in the /var/log/qmail/imap4/current continues to say the max is 40.
