Hi,
I'm using FCKeditor from http://www.fckeditor.net in two of our projects
and I'm very pleased about the functionality. The editor is licensed
under the LGPL. I think it would be a great mariage to have the
functionality of FCKeditor in qooxdoo.
FCKeditor is big. All these already complete editor components make it
hard to integrate them in qooxdoo, because qooxdoo already comes with
many things they have also "locally" implemented like menus and toolbars.
I like something small. Like the Wigd-Editor. This should make it easier
to convert it to an real qooxdoo widget.
To add some features from the other LGPL'd editors later should not be
that hard.

Sorry for not having the time to do the work :-(
Best Regards...

Hi list,
Hi Andrey,
Just stumbled across the Qooxdoo project couple of days ago in the
search of widget library for a rich client app. We are (the company I
work for) seriously considering using qooxdoo and provide
colloboration with the project. Hats off to Sebastian and Andreas for
getting the project this far and the very neat architecture.
Personally, I was plesantly surprised to find this framework designed
after the likes of winforms and swt, rather than traditional dhtml
control libraries. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much. We also (especially in renderer) like many things
of qooxdoo. Yes you are right. We have a focus on creating something
more indentical to traditional toolkits, not simply dhtml.
I have looked at the current widget library in the renderer branch
and I did not find a richedit control. Are you guys planning to write
one in some near future? The requirement that we have is a very
simple htmlarea like http://dojotoolkit.org/docs/rich_text.html.
Well, renderer branch is some weeks away from release and until then
our focus is to create the tree and listview widget. The dojo guys
seems to have created a cool editor (with some crazy cross-browser
features). I like it. Probably you can help to create a compareable
implementation in qooxdoo (but with QxToolBars, ...). We will do it
too, but sometimes after the next release.
There are some basic iframe releated stuff (which could be probably
useful for an editor) in QxIframe. Probably you have some time to take
a look.
We have also the allowence to use parts of WIDG-Editor from
the-man-in-blue: http://www.themaninblue.com/experiment/widgEditor/
which seems IMHO to be a good starting point.
Regards,
Sebastian
Cheers,
-Andrey
