Direct file access is a security issue of all web browsers, therefore not allowed. For that a desktop application is needed, accepted for download and running. We do use qooxdoo ONLY for the GUI, to protect the business logic code better. Of course the GUI is quite easy to steal, but it is the same with many resource editors of desktop applications if not encrypted. The backend is PHP and C# in our case.
