Maybe the problem with setCentered is that it needs the dimensions of the window. Could work better if you open the window first, flush the queues and center it afterwards.

The Close-Button is always disabled in modal windows. We thought about typical dialog windows where the close button is also disabled. You are invited to submit a patch to change the current behavior, because there a probably some cases you want to have a close button on modal dialogs, too.
