I haven't yet had a chance to look into this. Please try the following:
treefile.setIcon(null);
treefile.setIcon('icon/16/presence/abcd.png');
I've seen reports of other icon change failures where setting it to null first
solved the problem.
Please let me know if it solves the problem.
