I wonder if you're going around this the wrong way. The event for the context menu is not related to the event for the menu item - the context menu event fires, sets up the menu, then after some more user interaction, the context menu fires another event. How is it possible to get information about the first event from the second event when they aren't related through the API? I suggest that you approach this a little differently: when the context menu event fires on the image, store the current image in a global variable. Then, when you get the event when something is selected in the menu, pick up the value of the global variable.
