It would definitively be useful for the community. Even if one has no
use for such a tool it is always interesting to see how others solve
problems with qooxdoo. Right now we have no place where we could host
such contributions but we are considering an additional contribution
repository where everybody is encouraged to share his qooxdoo
Applications/Classes/Utilities. Stay tuned what happens in this area.

We are changing the class system of qooxdoo in the next release. You can
have a look at it at
http://qooxdoo.org/documentation/articles/comparison_of_class_declarations_between_0.6.x_and_0.7

The changes seem dramatic but we have a migration tool which can
transform old style classes to the new style. I would suggest to base
your code on the stable 0.6 branch and migrate the code to 0.7 once it
is released. Alternatively you could wait until we release the first 0.7
pre release in the next few days. This will include all the new OO
features and syntax but may still be a bit rough at the edges. It is
still open, when the final 0.7 will be released.

I hope this helped,

    Best
    Fabian
