Agreed.  Having previously worked with visual tools such as Delphi, I
find the current toolset, missing important features. However, it it
still by far the most complete js framework I have found so far so I'm
keen to see what can be done to provide this out-of-the-box.

AFAICS, the new io.remote functionality would go some way towards
reoving dependencies on dojo etc for the data transfer.
