One strange thing I have perceived when loading images:

If the URL of my page is /mypath/mypage.html, IE7 tries to load the image:
     /mypath/undefinedblank.gif   ----> this results in an error response
from my server.
instead of:
    /resource/static/image/blank.gif
like it does Firefox.

Don't know if this could be relevant.
