You can learn a lot by interactively writing code in the console of Firebug,
a famous Firefox extension.
Try this in any page that has qx.js included:
var lab = new qx.ui.basic.Label('Hello world')
lab.setTop(100)
lab.addToDocument()
lab.setTop(200)
