> Is there a good book on javascript? Should I use Aptana? There are several good websites and books on Javascript.
First there is http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/tutorials/javascript/, a tutorial for beginners. Then there is http://www.quirksmode.org/resources.html, with some advanced topics. The author of quirksmode also wrote a good book on Javascript, "PPK on Javascript" (ISBN-13: 978-0321423306), which I would recommend if you want to buy just one book on JS. For an in-depth study of JS there is "Javascript: the definitive guide" by David Flanagan (ISBN-13: 978-0596101992) I do use Aptana, even it does not support Qooxdoo (yet). But then, there is on-the-fly code checking, and once you use a qooxdoo object or method, Aptana proposes it in code completion.
