if you can wait some days until alpha3 hits the road, the backgound color problem will be solved for you. Yesterday morning Sebastian demonstrated me, how the trunk is able to overwrite apperance styles and reset them afterwards. While this change seems to be subtle at first, to me it is at least as important as the new class system.
