Hmmm... Nothing currently uses ARRAY_JOIN, and TreeVirtual, as a subclass of Table, doesn't even have the capability to use it. Making it the default isn't an option right now. I believe, but could be wrong, that Til had done experiments and decided that ARRAY_JOIN wasn't really beneficial. Til, please chime in.
