So does firefox. You are asking 'Why does Firebug hurt performance
with sites that use javascript?' Doesn't sound like anything qooxdoo
specfic.

1. Are you using Firefox 3? Firebug in firefox 3 is pretty alpha at the moment.
2. You might want to disable network monitoring. Loading a bunch of
files gets a lot slower with that enabled. Go to the net tab and
_then_ select options.

In general: you want to _not_ run a debugger when just visiting sites.
