qooxdoo was built with a Unix environment in mind and even though it's possible to use it under Windows with Cygwin, it's not as comfortable as running it under a real Unix system with a decent console (where you can do basic things like copy / pasting).
Fortunately, there is a very easy way to setup a real Unix environment for all your Unixy needs. Download Wubi: http://wubi-installer.org/ Run it, pick a version of Ubuntu (I suggest Kubuntu but Ubuntu is great too. You can pick Xfce if you feel minimalist but don't complain about a lack of features. And don't pick KDE4, it's preview of what's to come and isn't feature complete). Choose how much space you want to allocate, a user name, a password and then start the install. Everything will be automatically downloaded from the net and installed under a folder on your system. No need to partition anything. Reboot, pick your new OS in the boot menu and TA-DA! If you don't like it, reboot under Windows and remove it from Add / Remove programs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
