I read on the qooxdoo homepage that to make releases easier - that only the version 8 sdk release is slated to happen, and future "build releases" are being discontinued.
I love qooxdoo - and I'm a new user - but I tried to follow the instructions for the 0.7.3 SDK - and Cygwin doesn't install python where the "how to" documentation said, I couldn't for the life of me get the SDK to work. Shoot... my attempts of using any of the 0.8 betas was fruitless. I am PLEADING that you continue development of qooxdoo and release build versions of the lib because one meg or so of a static javascript file - to me is acceptable - as it gets cached... and being able to open the build, look at the demobrowser html samples, and just call qx - is simple - concise - and efficient. PLEASE reconsider dropping the build... I don't want to fight with compiling in cygwin, figuring out how to make python appear where your documentation says it gets installed - and failed "scripts" launched in cygwin. I'd rather have a lib of functions I can call - and they work.. period. QooxDoo is the best front end html/javascript library I have seen... and it would be a shame if it wasn't easy for people to start using... unzip - write a js file - run. People lose attention quickly - and if I was like that - I wouldn't be a faithful user of this awesome library... --Jason P Sage -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/No-More-Build-Release--Bad-Move-IMHO-tp19107551p19107551.html Sent from the qooxdoo-devel mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ qooxdoo-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/qooxdoo-devel
