There are a couple of updates required to the Perl RPC Server. I'll get my commit rights sorted out today so that I can submit the updates. In particular, the Perl JSON module has jumped from v1 to v2 which has caused the problem you have seem. There's also a problem with FF3 which was raised on the list and which can be easily fixed.
