Sure. There's an example of using Progressive as a progress bar for
loading. It's in the demobrowser:

In that example, it adds functions to the Progressive data model, so that
each function is called in turn as it is "rendered". The example adds a
number of rows of table data during each function invocation and then
returns, allowing the progress bar to be updated.
