It is certainly a good thing to cooperate with others in order to make
it accessible and advance the (currently opaque) solution more
transparently. However, IMHO it would be better just to setup a
dedicated project within qooxdoo-contrib (as has been suggested in the
past), so that this alternative packaging/deployment solution is handled
more closely to the framework.

You are already a qooxdoo contributor with SVN access to
qooxdoo-contrib, so it's trivial to setup a project. The other parts of
the infrastructure (bugzilla, wiki, release/dev management) are all
there and fit nicely into the qooxdoo ecosystem, so I doubt this should
be hosted at some arbitrary outside place.

BTW, I saw you setup the external project under the MIT license? Depends
on the actual content of the project, but I suppose it should be under
the same LGPL/EPL dual-license as qooxdoo. Within qooxdoo-contrib we
would also be safer in the legal aspects, as all contributors would have
signed the license agreement.

A good idea would also be to update and advance the existing wiki page
of such an all-in-one qooxdoo build at
http://qooxdoo.org/documentation/0.8/generator_config_howto
Thomas set it up after one of the last discussions to collect all info
and have a place for collaboration. Unfortunately, it never got any
feedback or updates, so it is stale now. With the new efforts, couldn't
this serve as a good starting point?

Bye,

Andreas
