The plugin is meant for IT staff with with a large investments in an IE6
only Intranet they don't want to rewrite but that wants to add new apps
coded for modern browsers. You obviously don't have much of a choice for
users not under your control.
As for home users, Google Wave will push them towards it because it will not
support IE and will offer Google Chrome Frame (or a new browser) if you use
IE to visit the site.
