Unfortunately, I don't recall seeing any posts with further work towards
your goal. Re-reading my old message which you provided the link for, I
still believe that's the way to go.
Maybe I'm wrong, though, that no one has worked on it. Hopefully someone
will pipe up and say, "Looky here!"
