I couldn't figure out how to use my PNG in the playground, so I've used that one, which is used in the hello world example - doesn't look very nice, but should explain the problem. You can see a button, which content has a size of 74 x 21px. The whole button has a size of 94 x 41px, cause I set the slice size to 10 and qooxdoo uses the slice size as size for the border as well. What I need is to specify another border width than the slice size, to get a smaller button. If you enter -8 for the padding, the button looks like I expect it, but the content is cropped.
