Just to add some context to this: qpdfview's code is currently designed to be tightly integrated but straightforward and simple rather than reuseable and extendable. IMHO, this would very much alter the aim and scope of this project. And while I agree that this is interesting functionality and I am sure that the code base can be refactored in the necessary places, I am personally not interested in treating these broader use case and maintaining the the interface layers needed to support them. Since this seems to be more about my personal interests than technical feasibility, I would not try to stop this if there is an strong interest in it by several people. I would rather just step down as maintainer and let the project continue in this direction with a new maintainer after the next release. (Of course, Alexander has in a sense applied for job. :-)) So please use this opportunity to voice your opinion. Best regards, Adam. P.S.: I find PostScript support rather unimportant compared to DjVu since PS-to-PDF conversion should be lossless. Am I missing something?
