ralphl confirmed that the question is solved:
I installed the repository
https://code.launchpad.net/~adamreichold/+recipe/qpdfview-dailydeb and
then installed 0.4.14.99~1947~59~ubuntu14.04.1. This seemed to fix the
problem.
