No it's not, it's in the patch I submitted for QPID-291. I added AMQAuthenticationException in there as part of the patch and that's the way it's getting returned because of the way AMQConnection works.
OK, I've taken a look at the patch for QPID-291. I can see that AMQConnectionException thrown from AMQConnection constructor wraps whatever the underlying cause is, so I think the inner exception looks fine. RG
