Good point, I should have been more careful with my wording.
I was imagining something similar to what is done on the broker e.g. an
abstract SaslAuthenticator class for which multiple implementations are then
possible (one of which would be integration with cyrus-sasl, again as on the
broker).
Would you be happy with that?
