I have recently changed our Qpopper program to enable Group Bulletins.
We have used the standard bulletin board system for some time and it is
a great help in reducing the number of emails being sent out at one
time, as we have a large number of accounts. We also have our staff and
students distributed over a number of campuses and I thought it would be
nice to have a bulletin board set up for each campus as well as the
  central system.

However, the group bulletins are not working.

Those groups with only a few entries work fine, but most of our groups
have several thousand entries (split into multiple lines with the same
gid). I have seen some discussion in the past about the limits to the
number of users in a group being set by the sys/limits.h file and the
getgrent(3) and associated functions which are used by this program. It
appears that the getgrid function only returns the FIRST group in the
database with that gid. So, I am assuming that if your name is not in
the first line in /etc/group, you will not get the bulletin.

I have tried setting the primary group (in /etc/passwd) as suggested in
the pop_bull.c program. But that doesnt work either.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

BTW: We are using Tru64 Unix (4.0F) and Qpopper 3.12
