Sorry about that. The '-d' flag was removed in 4.0.13 and 4.1.b9. (Instead, 'make install' now checks for an creates subdirectories if needed.)

If you tried it on 4.0.12, please try 4.0.13. If you did use 4.0.13 and it is failing, please let us know.
