Hi,

I've just installed clamav and configured the clamav plugin.

I ran into a couple of problems which I thought I'd share with you.

1. I installed clamav from an rpm (http://crash.fce.vutbr.cz/crash-hat/1/clamav/clamav-0.80-2.i386.rpm). By default, this runs clamd as the user clamav. This means it is not able to read the temporary messages in /home/smtpd/tmp. The error message looked like this;

2004-11-18 01:36:24.442307500 /home/smtpd/tmp/qpsmtpd.clamav.26704.mUYfiU: Access denied. ERROR

I commented out the "User: clamav" line in /etc/clamd.conf to fix that problem.

2. I got warnings in the qpsmtpd log file like this:
"2004-11-18 01:36:24.442291500 26704 virus::clamav plugin: clamscan results: WARNING: Ignoring option -i: please edit clamd.conf instead.
2004-11-18 01:36:24.442302500 WARNING: Ignoring option --max-recursion: please edit clamd.conf instead.

I removed these two command line options in the plugin to fix that.

Other than that it's working great!

Cheers,

R.
