Yes, I did this too. Then I read the INSTALL file. Then I looked through /usr/include/paths.h ... however _my_ original question was just what standard mandated /usr/sbin/sendmail. I had forgotten that FHS was intended for all unix systems and I do know that it was NOT universally adopted 10-15 years ago (I was responsible for over a dozen *NIX boxes, all of them different (AIX,HP-UX,SunOS, Solaris,Sinix,SCO,linux...) less than 10 years ago and I don't think any of them followed FHS very closely (except, perhaps Solaris and HP-UX 10, but only because they are SYSVR4). The new york stock exchange was still running SunOS in 1999 ( I know someone at Sun who was responsible for migrating people off for Y2K ). -- --gh
