I'm somewhat disappointed by the fact nobody is responding anymore.
We'd really like to proceed with using the prefork version, since
forking is what's currently causing high loads on our mailservers.
Can anybody reproduce the problems I have?

I've also tried "trunk" now.
It simply isn't working correctly. When I do telnet <host> 25, about 1
out of ten times the connection times out, with the Could not print
[220 <host> ESMTP] error in the logs.
It's NOT a connection that breaks early, it really is qpsmtpd not
answering sometimes.

We're using the qpsmtpd-03x branch from SVN.
We got the trunk and 0.3x merged finally so we are back on trunk for
development, so you should do a svn switch to move over to the trunk.
