While I'm chasing my AUTH issue(s) I slapped in the 0.33-dev c/o John. It
failed miserably (Apache system) so I started running diff's and swapping in
the different .pm's to see where things broke. Debugging under apache when
logging isn't working is, well, nearly impossible.

The config:
logging/syslog (which works up/through v648, same as what's in trunk)
  standard Apache config (server 2.0.59)

The synopsis:
The server starts. Upon the first connection for service, the only result
is an "Out of memory!" in the apache error_log. That child, in apache,
dies.

I walked every version of Qpsmtpd.pm from current back to v648 to confirm
this. There are some "can't load logging plugin" and other issues with v671
and v674. Those seem to be addressed in the commit notes though.

I'll start but working with the fixes in v671 and v674 and working forward
in patches that were committed trying to identify what went awry. If
someone has a fix for this that isn't already committed I have a sandbox to
test.

Once past this I hope to get back to the AUTH issue.

Thanks,

peter
