I would think that the moderator of QRP-L is kinda like a shadow goverment, and the list policy is really determined by whatever fiat thinks they are the be all/end all of QRP.


What dismays me even more than the dimbulb policy is the fact that so many people who are dedicated to a power level that can easily be wiped out can be either so quiet or so establishment supportive when it comes to issues such as
BPL and ill-conceived ARRL proposals.


The current thread of BAD CW is a prime example....I actually see posts from folks who admit they aren't that good with CW/and or are real new to the hobby who prounce that only machine-generated style code is correct.

Then, there are the endless discussions of modeling "ideal" antennae...while very few folks tell the person wondering how to get on the air that some very simple antennae can get them on the air and talking in the time it takes to
run a wite from point A to point B.


Maybe we need to start a HAM-CURMUDGEON club/list.
