In this case what makes it ESPECIALLY stupid, is that some of the "experts" have clearly never had a chance to use one that is properly constructed and fed, yet they speak as if a dipole at the same height is just as good for multiple bands......Sigh.
I also find the response that a useable cw signal is only 20hz or so wide, after a very decent explanations in several messages were given for the 200hz fiqure, to be a perfect example of why some people equate ham radio ops with cbers.
