W2AGN <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterence to the qrplist gang
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, earlier this week, before the rains came, I finally got my Horizontal
loop fixed! One side had broken at the feedpoint, which is almost 55' feet
up, at the peak of my VERY steep roof. To get to it, I have to hook a ladder
over the peak of the roof, and use another ladder to get up to transfer to
the "roof" ladder. Almost 20 years ago, when I put it up, it was easy. Now it
seemed a lot harder, but I did it. Even made 2 trips when I dropped a nut and
didn't have a spare with me :-(

Used new 14 ga Copperweld, and replaced the hardware holding the other side,
too. Even painted it with Rustoleum. If it lasts as long as the first one, I
will be 80 when it's time to fix it again...

I am sore all over, particularly my hips from straddling the peak of that
roof.
