New QRP Internet Mailgroup, Part 1 Citing an increase in the "signal to noise" ratio on the popular QRP-L Internet mail group, a band of QRPers has spun off QRP-Z at http://fernblatt.net/mailman/listinfo/qrp-z_fernblatt.net. "In light of all the goings on (on QRP-L) due to lack of a moderator, I've created a new QRP list, QRP-Z," wrote Tom Norris, NU4G, in a posting to QRP-L in late August. "There are no ads and spammers will be removed at once. It's there for the QRP community because Ham Radio is a hobby and not a place for fighting." New QRP Internet Mailgroup, Part II Stan Wilson, AK0B, has created and is moderator of the new Yahoo discussion group Micro Power: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/micro_power. "The idea is to establish an open forum for the exchange of technical information on designing, building and operating VQRPp equipment," Wilson wrote in a posting to the Internet mail group QRP-F in August. "I hope to integrate information from all weak signal type communications, LowFer, HiFer, amateur radio, etc., source at one site. "The concept is to develop an 'open source' for the design of new techniques for communications with milliwatt transceivers around the world. There will be links to various micro power experiments, technical files and pictures of experimenters' projects." New QRP Internet Mailgroup, Part III Veteran QRPer Chuck Adams, K7QO, on his web page wrote in August: "In an effort to get a group of serious QRPers together, a new group is forming called QRP-Tech on Yahoo Groups. "This group will be 100 percent moderated and topics of discussion will be only QRP operating and building. No politics and no bashing at all." Adams added, "All postings will be moderated without exception. The moderator reserves the right to refuse enrollment and reserves the right to remove individuals that are not interested in a serious discussion group that is technically oriented and try to undermine it in any manner--either directly or indirectly."
