hi,
--prefix option is not for ripmime. It is installation prefix of qsheff. Although you can use any path as prefix. It is not problem, just a notice. I think your problem is that, /usr/local/bin is not in your path. May be you switch to root by 'su'. Use 'su -'. Because of su just changes user id, dont do anything other. 'su -' does a real login and executes rc scripts like /root/.bashrc. It will set your path environment.
# su -
# echo $PATH (Be sure PATH environment includes /usr/local/bin)
# cd /path/to/qsheff-1.0-r1
# ./configure
# make
# make install
