First of all, qsheff is great program. I appreciate your efforts.

My question has to do with installing qsheff. Since I already have qmail patched with Bruce Guenter's QMAILQUEUE patch, I would like to use it to insert qSheff into the mail processing queue rather than by renaming the qmail-queue binary.

As you probably know the QMAILQUEUE patch works by having qmail check an environment variable to see if some other program should be substituted for qmail-queue.

Assuming I set the QMAILQUEUE environment variable to qmail-qsheff, my question is whether qmail-sheff has to be modified in any way to make it send its output on to "qmail-queue" rather than "qmail-queue.orig"?

Assuming there is a relatively straightforward solution, it might make a good FAQ.

FYI, I did see a discussion thread at http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/qmail/users/128165?page=last which suggests that one way for filters like qsheff to deal with this issue is to check an environment variable to see where to send its output.

Regards and TIA,

Mark
