** The FIRST Lego League at the Queensland University of Technology ** QUT's School of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education will once again host the FIRST Lego League Challenge in Brisbane, culminating in the tournament day to be held on November the 19th, 2011.
Open to teams of 9-16 year old children, the FIRST LEGO League (using the LEGO Mindstorms NXT technology) provides an opportunity for students to develop valuable engineering-based skills and understandings. Additionally, teams conduct a research project in which they investigate and present an innovative solution to a problem relating to this year's FOOD FACTOR (food safety) theme.
