What about USB-> VGA?
How do I get my computer to output what is on my screen to a USB port?

The speed he may be talking about is that HDMI can send over 10Gbps at
HDMI 1.3.
VGA is purely up to the processor of your computer.
major difference - HDMI is uncompressed digital image
VGA is analog

I recently purchases a shiny new high-end-ish laptop from Dell. Alas
when I went to plug a data
projector into it to use it with an interactive whiteboard, I
discovered that it had an HDMI port,
but no VGA port.
One fellow from Dick Smith connected a HDMI-->DVi converter to a
DVi-->VGA converter. That didn't
work. I then bought a rather expensive powered box that connects a
HTMI port to a VGA port. Alas,
when I tried it out yesterday, it didn't work - all I could see was
the 'No Signal' blue screen.
A fellow at JayCar where I bought the powered box from said that a
number of customers had had
trouble connecting their HDMI laptop to their VGA data projector,
something to do with the 'speed'
of the signal (not sure what he means here).
Anyway, the bottom line is, I can 't get my HDMI computer to talk to a
data projector with a VGA
input. Has anyone else had this problem? More usefully, has anyone
found a solution?
