Paul,

This is one unit that I have struggled with to get content. We only
have CS3, but a music teacher was telling me that CS5 is a much more
polished product.

I worked through the book "Classroom in a Book for Soundbooth", showed
students the videos that shipped with CS3, and students used the
Soundbooth video tutorials from

a website that is free to all eq personnel.

For assessment, they had to do three things:

1. A folio of completed tasks
2. Record a 30 second radio grab advertising a coming event
3. I found a very funny 2 minute video on the Internet (called "greatest
invention ever") which was a medieval spoof on using computers (an
ancient lord had invented a wooden mouse). Students had to rip out the
sound of one of the main speakers and replace it with their own.

It's pretty basic, but I would sure like to hear of any other ideas.

As a spinoff from the 3rd project (which the students enjoyed), when we
did video editing, I downloaded the Barbara ANZ ads. We created props &
set up a bank at school. Working in pairs, students had to pick which
one of the 3 ads to do, extract the script, create the storyboard and
shoot the ad. This structure made it easier for them when they had to
create their own video.

Cheers & Beers

Cruickers
