I don't know if this is the right list to send to in terms of considering getting a bug reopened, but this issue really makes Qt Creator 3.0 unusuable for us.
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Thanks, Yi ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Yi Ding (via JIRA) <[email protected]> Date: Fri, Feb 28, 2014 at 12:03 PM Subject: [Qt bugreports] (QTCREATORBUG-11198) Qt Creator 3.0 unusable over samba share To: [email protected] [ https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTCREATORBUG-11198?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=234067#comment-234067] Yi Ding commented on QTCREATORBUG-11198: ---------------------------------------- The issue isn't just about when we open a file. The reparsing happens constantly, even when just saving a file. This is over a samba share on a server that's sitting on the same switch, so it's not like the I/O capacity is unusually low. You should probably experience similar issues just by having a slow hard drive or something similar. Can you guys reopen and do a measurement of the difference in the amount of I/O between Qt Creator 2.8.1 and 3.0? It seems like it must be at least an order of magnitude different. > Qt Creator 3.0 unusable over samba share > ---------------------------------------- > > Key: QTCREATORBUG-11198 > URL: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTCREATORBUG-11198 > Project: Qt Creator > Issue Type: Bug > Components: C/C++/Obj-C++ Support > Affects Versions: Qt Creator 3.0.0 > Reporter: Yi Ding > Assignee: Nikolai Kosjar > > It looks like the new version of Qt Creator is doing a lot of reparsing which makes the GUI unresponsive when using a Samba share. > I don't know if anyone else has encountered this. Our Samba share isn't particularly fast, which may be part of the problem, but we don't encounter this issue in 2.8.1. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
