Mh, so you probably missed the "newer" ptxdist (not the 1.x series). I had
always trouble with parallel builds on multiple cpu's with OE.

Well it's probably easy to make the ptxdist backend more generic to support
different types of embedded build systems. So if you are interested in joining
forces i would definetly be interested. It shouldn't be to hard to add OE 
support i guess.

Currently QT creator depends on the existence of qmake. It would be nice to 
have the backend/toolchain detection even without that.
